Striated Pardalote

This sweet bird landed on these rounded eucalyptus leaves in the shadows very close to where I was standing. It was almost so close I was not going to try to take the shot. I managed to unzoom, and then quickly overexposed it so that the bird would not disappear in the shadows completely. It turned out and is pin sharp, so it goes to show it is always worth 'trying'

I was thrilled that so many birds were enjoying these flower eucalyptus. I returned here as many as 10 days to watch the changing flowers and birds. The pardalotes preferred the high tree top branches so my patience paid off waiting for one to eventually fly down to my level.
