Southern Emu Wren
This is the male with his blue breast and blue over the eyes. A tiny wren weighing the equivalent to a teaspoon of sugar (without the spoon of course). His long tail feathers comprise 2/3 of his body length. This is such a shy bird, rarely visible above the dense scrub. A privilege to find him. All thanks goes to my husband for his willingness to come out birding to help me find this bird. My hearing impairment means I cannot hear it, so without his help I doubt I'd be getting any shots.
