Splendid Fairy Wren, male
I never adjust the colours of this bird. What you see is what the birds true colours are. Vivid and splendid, like its name
His tail started to move just before he changed position, otherwise he was perfectly still
Splendid Fairy Wren
Third in this sequence. He really is splendid
One of Australia's favourite birds

Not coming out of this tree!
Red winged fairy wren
The upright tail is typical of the wren family. This is the male and he had a family nearby. This pose is a show of excitement in that he was very alert to his surrounds and protecting his family
Red Winged Fairy Wren (male)
This is the male, and the next photo is his female.
Red Winged Fairy Wren (female)
This is the female to the boy in the previous photo

Male Splendid Fairy Wren in Eclipse
Taken on 29 Feb 2020. A favourite shot. When it is the first photo of the day and you may as well have gone home after this one.
The chick in front is a young female and the adult female is behind
Splendid (male) Fairy Wren in 'eclipse'. He is clinging to a tall Dandelion weed in a field of dandelions. You can see all of the yellow flowers. I almost wanted to unsaturate this photo, because the colours were just so vibrant, but chose to leave it untouched.
