Love this parrot. The colour pallet is stunning and the beak is like shiny chrome from a Cadillac. The females and juveniles of this species look very pastel in contrast to the vibrance of the male with it's extremely red head.

I'm not entirely sure if this is a female or a juvenile (or both), but I love the soft pastel colours and how it blends in with the wildflowers. The Australian red earth is hard to miss.

Regent Parrots

Took half an hour to inch my way close enough to get this shot. This pair of Regent parrots saw me coming and were ready to fly if I made the slightest move. They are a breeding pair and were keen to feed in the shadows of a eucalyptus tree with the bright farmland in the background. The female is more yellow and she is on the left. Some of my favourite photos have a butterfly passing through the shot!
