Always worth the wait for the right shot
Autumn in Perth. Many of the eucalyptus trees are flowering in a range of colours
Although this is not an uncommon honeyeater, they are not seen frequently in comparison to the others (such as brown or white cheeked). I got very lucky with this shot in that it all came together nicely.
A thirsty brown honeyeater finding nectar on a very hot day
White cheeked honeyeater and gumnuts
I saw these perfect gumnuts in various stages of opening, and hoped a bird would come along. Thrilled that this honeyeater flew in and could cling to the gumnut for this sweet shot.
White Cheeked Honeyeater and gumnuts
I was quite amazed that the cap on the gumnut did not come off and could support the weight of the honeyeater
Photo taken exactly one day after the previous shots which were blue skies

Spring. Bugs for the newly hatched chicks
New Holland Honeyeater juvenile
Araluen Botanical Gardens. These beautiful plants were attracting many honeyeaters. I loved the pretty lavender and pinkish blossoms

The kangaroo paw creates a unique star shadow
The kangaroo paws were so so vibrant. Photographed on the last day of Spring
The yellow kangaroo paws were a wonderful prop against what looks like a waterfall in the background. The backdrop is really 'smokebush' (conospermum triplinervium), but its okay if you want to think of it as a waterfall
I've not been to Japan before, but this photo makes me think of Japan and the 'rising sun'
New Holland Honeyeater
Gathering nesting material from a reed. This species resembles the White Cheeked Honeyeater in many ways, but the easiest way to distinguish them is their white eyes.
Curious Brown Honeyeater
Brown Honeyeater Eucalyptus
I enjoy this photo, but please do not purchase this one as the bird is not entirely in focus and I dont want any disappointed customers.
